Are you an experienced emergency or adult critical care nurse with a current Wisconsin RN license? Are you prepared for the exciting challenge of serving patients in an air medical transport system aboard fully-equipped medical helicopters as a member of our highly-skilled team? If so, we want to hear from you!

Flight For Life Transport System is currently seeking strong candidates for a Full-time Flight Nurse position to work three 12-hour shifts per week. This opening is located at our base in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing preferred

  • Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license

  • Minimum of three current years as an adult critical care or emergency nurse (experience in both preferred)

  • Current certification in BLS, ACLS & PALS with instructor certification preferred

  • Pre-hospital EMS experience preferred

  • Previous flight nursing experience a bonus

  • NRP, TPATC or TNATC must be obtained within the first year of employment

  • Certification as one of CFRN, CEN, CCRN, RNC, CTRN within two years of hire

  • Successfully pass a pre-employment physical exam including drug screen

 

Essential Duties:

  • Cares for critically ill or injured patients within the scope of practice defined by the Flight For Life Medical Director and the appropriate state regulations

  • Practices independent and collaborative judgment, analytical thinking, decision making, and prioritization using advanced assessment and intervention skills

  • Utilizes leadership, collaboration and interpersonal skills to coordinate multidisciplinary teams to facilitate optimum patient care and outcomes

  • Formulates a focused and specific plan of care appropriate for the patient’s condition from initial contact until care is relinquished at accepting medical facility

  • Evaluates efficacy and outcome of medical interventions throughout the treatment and transfer process, with continued reassessment of patient responses

  • Maintains thorough patient care documentation

  • Maintains all applicable safety standards

  • Completes continuing education and clinical requirements

  • Completes other duties and requirements as assigned
